Building the Team of Community Healers

-Building trust

-Mastering conflict

-Achieving commitment

-Embracing accountability

Focusing on results Where should we be, if not here?

Community Healing Elements (4 Principles)

1. Acknowledging the past

2. Creating a safe space for understanding

3. Reconciliatory partnerships

4. Empowering Community Healing Participants

Small group notes and key points

The way forward, how best can we contribute?

-Possible workshops to teach people their rights and possible empowerment teachings.

-There need to be structures in the communities that people can go to: Social programs, social workers, etc.

-People need to understand and feel comfortable going to a community resource with problems, not to take matters into their own hands.

- Need voices from both farmers and workers in order to come to an understanding.

-The element of apartheid and oppression needs to be removed

-The way individuals treat and see people needs to change

-Social development, change in attitude.
